I'm Naoko from the program planning committee, Education course.

When we went to Okayama on our local trip, we visited Asahijyuku Junior High School. Some students from the school are looking for penpals.

I put their names and requests below.Their requests are various and I hope to find someone who meets their
requests, but it is NOT necessary.

So, if you know someone as their penpals, or if you have questions, please let me know!!

They are all 12 ~ 13 years ols and girls except for #5, Rugby club members.

#1 Yukari, wants to have a penpal from U.K. age 13 ~ 18. Either a boy or a girl will be fine.

#2 Arisa, same requests as Yukari, #1.

#3 Natsuki wants to know someone from English speaking countries, same age as her.

#4 Miyuki wants to have a girl from English speaking countries who plays the piano, same age as her.

#5 7 boys from the Rugby club are looking for boys who also play Rugby from N.Z. and Australia.

#6 Mai hopes to have someone from Australia who plays tennis, a girl, same age.

#7 Makiko wants to have a girl from Australia, same age, to brush up her English.

#8 Yui, same requests as Makiko, #7.

#9 Tomoyo hopes to know someone from English speaking countries, same age as her.

#10 Risa wants to have a girl from U.S.A. same age as her.

#11 Rio, same requests as Risa, #10.

So, if you know someone who are interested, please, please let me know!

I need your help!

Thanks, in advance.
Love,
Naoko Hirayama

Colette of Singapore and Akiko of Japan have initiated the Pen Pal Project. Well done!

Aim of the penpal project : For cultural exchange, or improve language ability of students, etc

Target group : Age range : Young school-going children /Teenagers/
Children should be encouraged to draw if they are unable to express in English ( eg, houses that they live in, etc). In this way, they can write in simple words ( eg "This is the house I live in", and draw a picture of the house )

Langauge ability of the particpants : Are they able to write and communicate in basic English ? Sometimes, the writer may not use English as the language of communication; therefore, it becomes slightly difficult for that party to read / write. In such instance, someone with English capabilities ( eg teacher / family member / friend) may help on this matter.

Age difference between the parties : Preferably, the age should be fairly close, in order for them to have similar interest.
