I'm Yuka MURAMOTO, SWY15, from Japan.

I'll be sub-national leader of Japan for SWY17-next program,starting in January 2005.
National leader is Mr.Norioki SEKIGUCHI from SWY9. We are both excited and honoured to be getting on board Nippon maru again!

We will leave Yokohama port on 19th January and will visit Sydney, Wellington, and Suva! As you may know the participating countries are Australia, Canada,Costa Rica, Fiji, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, New Zealand,Poland, Turkey, USA, Venezuela and Japan. I'm very looking
forward to seeing new friends soon.

I and Nori, JPY NLs, would like to announce an exciting project related to SWY17 as below. Please have a look and hope you to participate to encourage our new members!

------------------------
Future friends project!
------------------------
Concept :
To connect SWY17 PYs and Ex-PYs by postcards

Objectives:
To enchance friendships and relationships between SWY17 and Ex-PYs

How?

1. Collect messages from Ex-PYs to SWY17 PYs through swy-net mailing group. Please write your messages and mailing address.
Message includes self introduction, your memories of the ship (what you did on the ship), encouraging words for SWY17 PYs.

Please send message to me (Yuka MURAMOTO) via email but please do not forget include your mailing address.

When you send message to me, please make sure NOT to reply to all the list members. (That will cause to show your personal home address to all ;p)

I will print out all messages and bring them on the ship.

2. On the ship, volunteers who want to send a postcard from Nippon-maru, pick up a message randomly and write you a postcard.
PYs write their home mailing address/email address (if they want)on the postcard.
Message will include self introduction, what they are doing onboard, how they are feeling on the ship.

3. Send the postcards from Nippon-maru.
(You will receive a postcard from a PY.)

4. When you receive a postcard, you can reply to the sender by writing a postcard of your city or just emailing them.

There's no end to this project and hopefully it helps you and our new members keep our friendships stronger.

*********************************************************************
Email your message to
yuka_swy15@yahoo.co.jp by 28th December 2004.
*********************************************************************

* Please understand that it cannot be guranteed that you will receive a postcard even if you send message because there might be postal problems during the journey, depending on postal service situation of each country. I will distribute your message to  each PY and try to make sure for them to send you on board.

What do you think ?

I hope to receive many messages soon!

-yuka Muramoto (SWY15 and will be SWY17)
